Duality does not exist outside of the mind. There is only the Self. This question is already coming from a dualistic perspective – Self or body/mind. The body/mind is within and not other than the Self. So if you experience emotions…the Self experiences emotions. You are not other than the Self. As Alan Watts once said, “you are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself.” Continue reading Does the Self have emotions or is it part of the body/mind experience?
As long as you are setting conditions on Awakening or Enlightenment, it will not happen. What you are saying are really conflicting statements. “I’d like to Awaken, but…”, as soon as there is a “but” in there…what you are really saying is I don’t want to Awaken. You are saying – I have these attachments and I don’t want to let go. What if letting go was the only way to Awaken?

We are afraid of “other things” and in reference to how it impacts this body-mind (or other body-minds we care about). If you realize you are not just this separate body-mind and there is no other, then what is there to be afraid of?
Fear is also not required and needed for the continue existence of this body-mind. Fear is only necessary when wisdom and understanding are not present. Continue reading The awakened are without fear? Don’t you need fear to stay alive?
